ABOUT THE CHOIR:
Branch County Community Chorus
The Branch County Community Chorus is a mixed chorus designed to foster a musical relationship between the College and the community. The choir abides by four principals:
1)Present a wide variety of choral repertoire
2)Cultivate and build public interest in the choral arts
3)Create new opportunities for performance
4) To inspire, Motivate and Celebrate musical fellowship among the people of the Branch County community and beyond.
The choir's repertoire focuses on a variety of musical works of every stylistic period. The Branch County Community Chorus often collaborates with other arts organizations. Spring 2007, the BCCC premiered a major work by the Grammy nominated composer Peter Boyer, under the direction of Maestra Anne Harrigan and the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra.
Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings at the Coldwater High School building in the choral rehearsal room. Membership primarily is made up of people from throughout the Greater Branch County area, but also includes Kellogg Community College students. Community members pay a semester participation fee. High School students may register as community members or may opt to register for regular academic credit (1 semester credit hour). Previous choral singing experience is NOT required.
